This book introduces Black children to the legacy of a great man and mathematician who has left an indelible mark on the Black community and, most importantly, Black minds.
 
The Great Mathematician: Dr. Shabazz was created for two reasons: to celebrate the life and legacy of a wise and respected elder, leader, mentor, and mathematician; and to encourage Black youth to believe in their mathematical ability.
 
Before he transitioned and became an ancestor, Dr. Abdulalim Abdullah Shabazz made important contributions to the upliftment of Black communities, the Nation of Islam, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and mathematics spaces.
